Unforgettable Hoi An Coffee Class & Cam Thanh Village Adventure

Are you ready to dive into the rich, aromatic heart of Vietnamese culture? Beyond the lanterns and ancient streets, Hoi An Explorer Tours offers a vibrant culinary and cultural scene just waiting to be explored. While you might be considering a classic Hoi An cooking class or perhaps an authentic Tra Que cooking class, one of the most uniquely rewarding experiences is mastering the art of the brew: The Vietnamese coffee ceremony!

Join an incredible journey into the world of “cà phê” with a one-of-a-kind Hoi An coffee class experience located right in the heart of the scenic Cam Thanh Coconut Village. It’s more than just a drink—it’s an art, a ritual, and a taste of Vietnamese soul.

Become a Barista: Your Hoi An Coffee Class Experience

Step into the tranquil setting of Cam Thanh, where a local expert will be your guide on this aromatic adventure. Vietnam is famously the world’s second-largest coffee exporter, and here, you’ll get the inside scoop on the two powerhouse varieties that fuel the nation and the world: Robusta and Arabica.

Flavor Profile: Robusta delivers a powerful, bitter punch thanks to its high caffeine. Arabica is rich, aromatic, and slightly acidic/sour, boasting more sugars and lipids that develop flavor during roasting.

From Bean to Brew: Mastering the Phin Filter

The 1.5-hour session culminates in a hands-on experience where you’ll learn the traditional Vietnamese brewing method using the iconic Phin filter. You’ll move beyond theory to create classics like rich Vietnamese condensed milk coffee (Cà Phê Sữa Đá) and refreshing iced coffee. By the end, you’ll have all the skills to feel like a professional barista!

After your caffeine fix, explore the gallery’s second floor, which features unique products curated from Vietnam’s ethnic highlands—a beautiful display of the nation’s diverse culture.

Beyond the Class: Cam Thanh Village Immersion & Local Lunch

Your day doesn’t end with coffee! This comprehensive tour includes an unforgettable journey through the lush Cam Thanh Coconut Village. Imagine the serenity of cycling on countryside streets, watching buffalo graze, and witnessing the daily life of local farmers—a perfect contrast to the Ancient Town hustle.

The adventure continues with a visit to the coconut palm forest, where you’ll experience the famous bamboo basket boat ride. Get ready for a thrilling, spinning ride and maybe even some singing and dancing on the water! It’s a highlight that perfectly captures the lively spirit of the region. (If you love immersive local experiences, check out the Hoi An Buffalo Riding – Wet Rice Tour and Cooking Class for another great option!)

WHAT TO PACK FOR THE COFFEE EXPLORER TOUR? (And Things More Important Than Sunscreen!)

Many guests ask me, "Smith, what should we bring?" I will tell you frankly, no fluff, unlike those other websites.

This post is about the Hoi An Coffee Explorer class Tour, which includes my coffee class. Remember: You must learn how to make the coffee before we go!

WHAT TO BRING AND WHAT TO LEAVE HOME (Listen to me carefully!)

What You MUST Bring (The Truly Essential Items)

  • Good Sunscreen and A Big Hat/Cap: The sun in Hoi An is unbelievably strong. Tourists always tell me, "Vietnamese sun hits differently!" If you don't apply sunscreen, you'll look like a boiled shrimp when you get back. A light jacket helps, too. The most important thing is to apply it properly!
  • Sunglasses: Necessary; otherwise, you won't see the road.
  • Camera/Fully Charged Phone: You will visit incredibly beautiful places: Tra Que Vegetable Village, the Seven-Acre Coconut Forest. If your battery dies, you'll regret it for the entire trip
  • Comfortable Clothes: Shorts, T-shirts. No need for formal wear. We are going exploring; you need to be active. You definitely need to wear shorts for the basket boat ride!

What NOT to Bring (Things that will ruin your fun)

  • Credit Cards: We are going to the countryside! Just bring Vietnamese cash, please.
  • Valuables/Expensive Jewelry: These are not necessary! Leave them at the hotel for peace of mind. We should be relaxed when traveling, not worrying about our belongings.

WHY IS MY TOUR DIFFERENT? (My Personal Experience)

Big companies talk about 5-star quality and service. I talk about heart and flexibility

  • Small Groups, Big Stories: I prefer small groups. Small groups are more fun, easier to talk to, and easier to dive deep into local life. If you have 10 people or more? I will arrange a private tour for your group so the quality doesn't drop. We don't like squeezing people in!
  • Flexibility is Key: I have a suggested itinerary, but if you want to stay in the Seven-Acre Coconut Forest for an extra 30 minutes because the basket boat ride is so much fun, or if you want to stop at a roadside coffee shop, I know. Just tell me! We can adjust. This is your tour. I am the best motorbike driver in Hoi An. I know all the shortcuts.

100% Refund Policy: This is for your peace of mind.

The weather in Hoi An is something I cannot control! Big storm? Can't go? I refund 100%, no questions asked. Booking should be happy, no worries. That is my principle!

Transparent Pricing: The price I give you is all-inclusive. Except for souvenirs you buy or extra coffee you order. No hidden fees!

WHERE ARE WE GOING? (More than just sightseeing!)

Here are the places you will see, but the important thing is how we see them

  • Tra Que Vegetable Village (So Peaceful!): This is where people grow clean, organic vegetables. You will see how locals farm and learn how they take care of the herbs. Honestly, walking here feels incredibly tranquil, unlike the noisy Ancient Town. I often buy vegetables here to cook my sour fish soup.
  • Thu Bon River (Very Romantic!): We will take a slow boat ride. Not a big boat, just a small one. We'll admire the mangrove forest and the diverse birds. The Thu Bon River at sunset is the most beautiful. I often go fishing there.
  • Bay Mau Coconut Forest (Must Do the Basket Boat!): This is the most famous place, Cam Thanh Coconut Village. You have to paddle the basket boat yourself! It's shaky and unbelievably fun. The local fishermen here will guide you. This is the specialty of Hoi An.

A FEW REMINDERS FROM ME (The Part People Forget!)

  • Booking Info: Just send me the basic personal details via Zalo or Email. Don't worry, your information is secret. I only use it for registration and contact. Do not worry!
  • Holiday Surcharge: I have to tell you frankly, during Public Holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year), the service fee will increase (about 30%). You should book early so I can arrange everything. Hoi An is extremely crowded during holidays!

Don't Go Alone! These tours are best with friends, partners, or family. I don't like my guests feeling sad and alone. That's it. Just prepare your spirit and a heart ready to explore. I'll be waiting for you in Hoi An!
