Is it worth the money?

At first, looking at the price, I was quite hesitant. I thought, “Wow, that’s expensive for just a stage performance.” But believe me, after the 60-minute spectacle, I felt it was… cheap.

Cheap because of the immense effort from hundreds of actors, and cheap because the outdoor water stage is more majestic than you can imagine. It’s not just dancing; it’s the soul of Hoi An from its early days when the Maritime Silk Road was at its peak. I even got teary-eyed at some points. The production value is truly on another level.

Booking Experience – Don’t Waste Your Money

  • Never wait until the gate to buy: It’s incredibly crowded and exhausting. Search for reputable online agencies or local tour operators. Booking through them usually saves you 50k – 100k and you get a QR code to skip the queue.
  • Choosing your seat:
    • Eco: Closest to the stage. You see the actors clearly, but the overall view is a bit narrow.
    • High: The “Sweet Spot”! Higher elevation lets you see the entire 25,000m² stage. Watching hundreds of people walk on water from here is breathtaking.
    • VIP: For those with a bigger budget. Premium seats and drinks included. However, I find “High” class is more than enough for a peak experience.
  • Go for the Combo: Make sure to get the ticket that includes Hoi An Impression Theme Park. Arrive around 5 PM to wander around, watch free mini-shows, and take amazing photos.

Pro-Tips for Travelers

  • Transportation: The park is on Hen Islet (Cồn Hến). Cross the small bridge early to avoid traffic jams, especially on weekends. You can walk or take an electric shuttle.
  • Weather: Don’t worry about rain. The organizers provide free raincoats, and watching the show in the rain has its own magical vibe.
  • Electronics: Charge your phone! But try to limit filming—immerse yourself in the art with your own eyes instead.

In short, money can be earned back, but the emotions from the Hoi An Memories Show are priceless. It’s a true masterpiece that every Vietnamese person (and traveler) should see at least once. Hope these tips help you book your tickets with confidence. Have a wonderful night in Hoi An!
