Instead, I’ll talk about the feeling of sitting on a dragon boat, letting the Huong River breeze brush against my face, while holding chopsticks to taste a delicate piece of “Banh Loc” as the zither music echoes in my ears. Honestly, dinner on the Huong River cruise isn’t just a meal; it’s a way to truly “savor” the soul of Hue that everyone should try at least once.

The shimmering view of Truong Tien Bridge changing colors reflected on the water… trust me, it’s very “poetic” and romantic!

For Small Groups: Joined Dinner Tour (Cozy & Budget-friendly)

This is perfect for couples, small families, or groups under 15 people. If you go alone, just join a group—it’s still fun and you get to sit on a high-quality dragon boat anyway.

• Start time: 19:00 daily (You should arrive a bit early at Toa Kham wharf for check-in).
• Vibe: Modern dragon boats with cool air-conditioning, but I still prefer sitting by the side to watch the view.
• The Experience: Wear Hue Ancient Costumes for free “virtual living” photos (I love this part the most, you look like a prince or princess!), enjoy a set menu dinner, listen to Ca Hue (folk music), and release flower lanterns for luck at the end.

Price List for Reference:

• Under 1m: Free (1 child per 2 adults).
• From 1m – 1.3m: 50% price.
• Above 1.3m: Full price like us adults.

Want Privacy? Private Dinner Tour (Full Boat Charter)

If you have a big group (over 20 people) or simply want a private space for a proposal, a family reunion without being disturbed, you should book a private package.

There are several boat types depending on your “budget” and taste:

• High-end Dragon Boat: Large and airy. Charter fee is around 5 million VND / 2 hours + dinner & music fees.
• Hue dragon wooden Boat: Oh, this one is super luxurious, nostalgic, and artistic. Charter fee is about 3.6m – 4.3m per boat. The menu here is also fancier, including Royal Menus up to 1.5m/guest if you want to play “King and Queen”.

“Chill” Itinerary with the River

• 18:30: Meet at Toa Kham Wharf (49 Le Loi). Staff will welcome you and help you pick your Ancient Costume. Don’t forget to charge your phone; the wharf at night is very twinkly!
• 19:00: The boat leaves. You’ll eat while watching Hue city at night. Passing Truong Tien Bridge, Thien Mu Pagoda… the peace is strange but wonderful.
• 20:00: After a full stomach, it’s time for the “ears”. Artists perform Ca Hue. There’s a bilingual MC (English – Vietnamese) so foreigners can understand this beauty too. Lastly, we release lanterns together.
• 20:45: Back to the wharf, ending a romantic night.

How to Book (Super easy!)

I find La Que Travel quite professional. You have 2 ways:

• Book on Website: Pick date, time, and ticket type, then deposit about 30k/ticket to secure your spot.
• Message Zalo: The most convenient way. Just text their staff, and they’ll send the menu for you to choose and confirm.

• Arrive 15 mins early. Toa Kham Wharf is opposite Muong Thanh Hotel, easy to find, but traffic can be busy at night.
• If joining a group, keep in touch with the staff so they lead you to the right boat (there are many boats there, very easy to get confused!).
